Description
Casio Celviano GP-510 Hybrid Piano
The Casio GP-510 is a flagship Celviano Grand Hybrid digital piano, engineered to reproduce the mechanical response and tonal complexity of a concert grand piano with a high degree of precision. Developed in collaboration with C. Bechstein, it combines traditional acoustic piano construction principles with advanced digital sound modelling to deliver an exceptionally realistic playing experience.
At the core of the instrument is the AiR Grand Sound Source, a high-resolution sound engine designed to emulate three distinct European concert grand pianos. Each voice is produced using multi-layer sampling with continuous dynamic morphing, enabling seamless tonal transitions across the full velocity range. Advanced resonance modelling reproduces string interaction, damper behaviour and cabinet resonance, resulting in natural decay characteristics and a highly detailed harmonic profile.
The GP-510 features the Natural Grand Hammer Action mechanism, incorporating full-length wooden keys manufactured from high-grade spruce. The action utilises a true hammer system with extended pivot length, closely replicating the leverage and movement of an acoustic grand piano. This provides accurate control over repetition, escapement and dynamic articulation, allowing for precise translation of touch into sound.
A six-speaker Grand Acoustic System is integrated into the cabinet, engineered to project sound both upwards and downwards to simulate the dispersion characteristics of a grand piano soundboard. The system delivers a wide dynamic range with strong low-frequency resonance and clear high-frequency detail, ensuring consistent tonal balance across different playing levels.
Additional features include a Hall Simulator with multiple acoustic environments, Concert Play functionality for orchestral accompaniment, and a fully modelled three-pedal system with continuous damper response. USB audio and MIDI connectivity enable direct integration with recording systems, DAWs and smart devices, supporting both performance and production workflows.
With its hybrid action design, advanced sound engine and premium cabinet construction, the Casio GP-510 is a technically sophisticated instrument suited to advanced players seeking the realism of a grand piano with the flexibility of digital technology.
